Chad insisted on going to Mono Cliffs on a Tuesday night after work. He wanted to be at the lookout for sunset, so Jess, after a long day of work, was being rushed down a forest trail in the near-darkness, for as far as she knew, no particular reason. When they finally arrived at the spot that overlooks a breathtaking view of the valley, Chad dropped to one knee in a hurry to have the last of the waning sunset light his proposal. What he hadn't considered was the steel grate he was kneeling on, and that it was a combination of sharp ridges and large holes. So he knelt, in pain, afraid to take the ring out of the box and try to place it on Jess's finger with nervous hands, lest it should slip through the grate into the canyon and be lost forever. Nonetheless, Jess happily accepted, and there in the darkness, they were engaged.
Yesterday, Jess and Chad and I went back to Mono Cliffs and around Shelburne for their engagement shoot. I had so much fun with these guys! Here are a few of my favourites from the shoot.
I'm so happy Jess and Chad chose me to be their photographer, and I can't wait for their wedding!
