Daddies Rock - the Winner

Before I even say who won the free Daddies Rock shoot, I am going to humiliate myself by telling you all that I cried whilst reading every single one of the nominations. I hope that all of the men who were nominated know every day how much they're appreciated for being great Daddies.

And because I like ado, I'm also going to delay announcing the winner by making a different announcement pertaining to both this contest and the Mommies are Awesome contest. You have no idea how hard it was for me to not be able to give every single person nominated a free shoot and a bunch of loot. Everyone who wrote in spoke so wonderfully of the people they love, and I felt absolutely wretched for not being able to give everyone something. So I've decided I will give everyone something.

On August 16 and August 22, I will be running portrait days for all of the people who were nominated in either contest. Each person who wants to take advantage of this will get a free shoot, an online gallery of their images, $50 to spend on prints, and a special rate on prints. I should just be able to fit everyone in across those two days, so I will fill the spots on a first-come first-served basis. It's not as good as the grand prize, because the location will be my choice, and the shoots will be limited in time, but I wanted to give everyone something. If I don't fill all of my sessions with nominees, then I will open them up to nominators as well.

Thank you all so much for sharing your stories with me -- I hope I can help you capture a small piece of that story that you can keep forever.

Drum Roll Please:

While all of the entries that I read were moving, one of the men you talked about stood out to me as someone who needs this photo shoot now. Someone who could use a break in life because he's faced a lot. His story was the kind that makes me feel down-right silly for some of the things I worry about. And his wife and kids have been through an ordeal right alongside him, and they deserve it, too. They deserve an afternoon together, hanging out and having fun and making memories because not only do they know how precious these moments are because of what's already passed, but they know that they're facing even more trials in the future.

I won't share the whole story unless and until I have permission to do so, and instead will only add that I know this family will cherish the moments captured at our session. The winner of the photo shoot, $300 print credit, disk of images, and all that goes with all of that, is Sheila's husband, Rob Schnurr. I can't wait to meet you guys and have some fun with your family!

Once again, thank you to everyone who nominated Daddies that Rock! I will be emailing all of you, and all the mommy nominators, tomorrow about the shoots in August.

Have a Fabulous Father's Day!

I can't wait to hear the story - I know how awesome the Mommie stories were and how hard it was to choose just one.

Your idea of a portrait day for all of those nominated ROCKS!! Great job!
