Happy Birthday Nanny!!

Well, Nanny, this is the weekend that we celebrate your birthday. And this year the calendar blessed us with the chance to celebrate on your actual birthday. The day when the life began of a woman who we are all indebted to not just for our lives, but also for the example you set for each of us of how to be a woman, a mother, and a good person. The world is a better place because you were in it. You are exactly the person I want to be when I grow up, and I am so glad to celebrate your life every year.

I couldn't even begin to explain everything you've done for me, or how many times I think of you, or remember something you did or said or showed me that taught me something important.

I miss you so much, but I know you're happy somewhere and that I'll see you again.

So because you always, always, always remembered to call on my birthday, I'm putting this out there into the universe and hoping that wherever you are, you can read blogs.

I love you, Nanny. Happy Birthday!!

Aww, Amanda I did not even notice your Nanny was not "with" you in flesh till I read the blog, and what a wonderful thing for your family to gather and honor her!
