Jonathan and Megan: Engaged!

We had originally planned to do Megan and Jonathan's engagement session in Stratford, and I love Stratford and it's beautiful. But when I met up with them in town and Megan asked if we could go to the beach in Goderich instead, I was really excited. I love the beach in Goderich at any time, but for our evening shoot, it was even better, because the sun sets on Lake Huron and is just stunning.

The thing that made this location truly perfect, though, is that it's also where Jonathan and Megan went on their first date. And, is there such a thing as perfecter? Because they spent their first date at this very beach, enjoying a sunset just like this one. I was so happy that Megan asked to do their engagement shoot here, at a place that had meaning to their relationship and held great memories for them.

I had a great time with Megan and Jonathan. They were up for trying lots of different spots and ideas, and they oozed affection for each other, which certainly makes my job a little easier ;) Thank you guys for a truly awesome evening getting to know you both better, and for dinner afterward. That was so sweet of you!

Fellow beach-goers will recognize the road leading to Rotary Cove, one of three beaches strung together in Goderich. (note: it is the best beach to take kids to!)

Isn't Megan's ring gorgeous?

Again, anyone who's been there will recognize the largest salt mine in the world in the background. I wanted to get at least one shot with the salt mines there to distinguish this beach from any other beach.

We made it to the spot where Megan and Jonathan sat to enjoy the sunset on their first date just in time to catch the sunset.

A different take on the same sort of shot from the teaser post:

Once the sun had set, Megan wanted shots of them in the water before we left. Jonathan wasn't so keen, but he was a good sport about it :)

Megan and Jonathan - I can't wait for your wedding!!
