Viva Las Vegas

In the morning I leave for Las Vegas with my sister, Jenn. Well, that is if you can really call it morning. We have to leave her house at an hour which I would normally refer to as the last hour of night. But for the sake of denying that I am wiped right out, we'll call it morning.

This week has been insanely busy for me, and I didn't get done all the things I should have. Like packing. I didn't pack. I don't even know if I have clothes suitable for Las Vegas. I wonder if they have a Steve and Barry's in Las Vegas. I could afford some new clothes there, and that would save me packing.

I also didn't get Bria's lunches ready, set out outfits for the girls for each day I'll be gone, or transfer some episodes of something good to my MP3 player for the plane ride. Nope. Didn't do any of it. Probably won't now. And I'm okay with that, because, hey, I'll be in Vegas, and none of those things will really be my problem, except the last, and I'm so tired, I'm sure I'll just sleep on the plane anyway.

I've never been to Vegas before and I can't wait to see it. I'm going to try to blog from Vegas, but I will be busy devouring as much of the city as I can over the next four days, so I make no apologies if I don't.

I love cities so much. I've never met a city I didn't like. When I was a kid I sort of resented living out in the country because I so wished to live nearer to museums, art galleries, quaint little coffee houses, and probably even casinos. It's funny, now that I've grown up, my parents' house is one of my favourite places to be. I miss the peacefulness, the privacy, gravel roads, and long grass. Fortunately for me, I can still go home whenever I want to. In fact, we were just out there a couple of days ago, and I grabbed this shot of Bria, and my niece Eden in the back yard.

If I ever had to choose, I really don't know whether I'd say I prefer the bright lights of a big city or the starry nights of a country home. I guess it's a good thing I can keep taking little bites of each.

Have an awesome time in Vegas! I've only ever driven through...can't decide if it's somewhere I'd really like to go so can't wait to hear what you think :)

Packing's over-rated anyway...as long as you have your camera, ID and credit cards, you're ready!
